How to see who your boyfriend recently followed on Instagram
Updated October 14, 2026
The short answer
Instagram doesn’t show who anyone followed last: his Following list is in Instagram’s own order, not date order. If his account is public, type his username into Red Flag Follows (redflagfollows.app) to see his newest follows first, sorted into women, men and pages. No login, and he’s never told.
Why doesn’t scrolling his Following list work?
You’ve probably tried it: open his profile, tap Following, scroll. The problem is the order. On anyone’s profile but your own, Instagram sorts that list by what it thinks is relevant to you, so the accounts you know end up at the top and the girl he followed at 2am could be anywhere.
The Date followed sort exists, but only on your own account. Instagram removed the tab that showed other people’s follows back in 2019.
How do you see his newest follows first?
- Copy his Instagram username or profile link.
- Paste it into the search box and pick Instagram.
- See how many women, men and pages he’s followed recently. That part is free.
- Unlock to see every name, photo and profile link, newest first: up to his last 200 follows.
Can you get told the next time he follows someone?
Checking once tells you what already happened. With new follow alerts, we check his account every 2 hours and email you as soon as he follows someone new, with the new follows in your account. You can watch one account at a time.
What do you need?
- His account has to be public. If it’s private, only his approved followers can see his lists, and we’ll tell you straight away (that check is free).
- You don’t need an Instagram account, and we never ask for a password.
- Nothing shows up on his side. We never log in to his account or yours.
Does a new follow mean anything?
A follow isn’t a confession. People follow coworkers, friends of friends, a creator off one funny reel, and a new account can just be his cousin’s new business page. A list of follows tells you who, not why.
If something on it bothers you, talking to him will get you further than a screenshot. And if the bigger thing is that you can’t trust him, no list is going to fix that.
Does it work on TikTok?
Yes: see who he recently followed on TikTok, up to his last 100 follows.
